WEEK 3 - Bonding & Ballin!

The introductions are over and the initiations have come to a halt. It's time to put the nose to the grindstone and get to work!

The start of class is always exciting because we all get to share our successes throughout the week. We had so many sponsorships and raffle items donated by our student and TA teams this week! Part of the celebration of these successes is getting a Monopoly money shower from a specially-themed money gun! So far, we have received $1,500 from our presenting sponsors and another $1,300 in court and special events sponsorships!

Our first team bonding was also scheduled for CMU’s anniversary reenactment of the first Toilet Paper Toss game. The toilet paper toss became a fad in 1980’s and was halted due to game regulations and Mid-American Conference and NCAA rules. The 2023 Gus Macker team went to support the men’s team against our rival (we don’t say their name!) on January 28th and be a part of this unique experience.

It was beautiful to watch toilet paper flying through the arena! If you don't believe me, the pictures speak for themselves! Scott McNeal and T.O decided to have a little fun of their own and have a toilet paper fight once the paper hit the floor!

We broke the record for McGuirk Arena attendance, CMU won the game on a last second three pointer and our Gus Macker team had an amazing time supporting CMU athletes while seeing a toilet paper toss (and a packed McGuirk) for the very first time!
