Spring has sprung here at Finch Fieldhouse, and our team has been spring-ing into action! We are selling 50/50 tickets like hotcakes, getting teams registered at a record pace, and counting down the days until tournament weekend!
This week was a logistics week! We went over the animation plan for all setup, takedown and everything in between. Hour by hour, T.O walked us through what to expect and how to prepare. The entire team will be at Finch from sunup to sundown, Friday through Sunday, executing the coolest tournament in the world (yes we are a little biased)! Here is list of just a few things we will be doing to prepare:
Taping out all courts
Building a stage
Setting up tents
Blocking off roads/parking lots
Coordinating with emergency services
Arranging trash receptacles
Creating basketball courts
And that's just a few of the action items to complete. Finch and the surrounding area will be transformed unlike anything you've ever seen and when students come back to take their exams Monday morning, it is like we were never there!
Although it is mandatory for our entire team to be present at tournament weekend, this year we had a special exception. Jordan DeLisle, one of our Court Captains and team bonding committee member, has a rare and extremely exciting opportunity to be with her boyfriend, Joel Wilson, as he has the opportunity to be drafted into the NFL. He sent our class a video to thank us for what we are doing as a class and to thank us for having Jordan with him during his Draft Party! Jordan will be supporting him for his draft party and then rejoining us for the rest of the tournament weekend! We are so excited for Jordan and Joel and can't wait to be cheering for him while we cheer for our Macker teams!

And you already know it wouldn't be a CMU Macker class without ending with some dancing! Donna has finished teaching us the choreography and now we are putting it to practice. We are so ready for Macker M-O-N-O-P-O-L-Y!
